Who we are. . .

Hi, I’m Lisa, the trainer behind Paws On Training LLC in Miami, Florida. As a professional dog trainer, I specialize in helping families raise well-mannered, happy pups through puppy training, in-home obedience programs, and behavior support.

I graduated from the University of New England with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Behavior, where I studied how animals learn and interact with the world. I also gained hands-on experience working with dolphins and other marine mammals, which taught me the importance of clear communication, patience, and positive reinforcement. Those same principles guide my work with dogs and their families across Miami every day.

Over the years I’ve helped families with everything from first-time puppy basics to advanced behavior challenges. Whether it’s leash manners, building confidence, or preparing a dog for busy city life in Downtown Miami, my goal is always to help you build a calm, confident companion who fits smoothly into your life.

I believe training should be positive, practical, and personal. Every program is tailored to your dog and your family, not a one-size-fits-all plan. I work directly with owners in their homes across Miami, Downtown Miami, Cutler Bay, Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Kendall, and nearby neighborhoods, so training happens where it matters most, in real life.

When I’m not working with client dogs, you’ll usually find me training my own dog, Kai. From obedience to agility to trick training, he keeps me inspired and reminds me every day why I love what I do.

At Paws On Training my mission is to help families raise confident, well-behaved dogs from puppies to adults, and to change lives by creating calmer homes, easier routines and stronger bonds between people and their dogs.
